As a small run operation, the reliability and efficiency of contract hirers is very important to us – for example we once had a hired-in 20 ton machine breakdown in the middle of a reinforced slab project that was left by the hirer for several days before eventually being moved/replaced. The liability with the standing time and knock on delays with hired in labour and other plant (piling equipment, dumper) was left for ourselves to pick up.
